Netsite designs new site for top tourist attraction
Chatham-based Netsite has completed a new website for one of Kent’s most popular tourist attractions.
Chatham Historic Dockyard Trust, the independent charity which owns and operates The Historic Dockyard Chatham, wanted a fresh design to reflect its new corporate identity and make it as easy as possible for people to plan and make the most of their visits.
The new site www.thedockyard.co.uk incorporates video and a special ‘Plan Your Day’ feature with easily accessible links to the individual galleries and attractions on site, as well as information such as opening times, a location map and prices. There is also an interactive map, an on-line shop, a news section and a photo gallery along with several hundred pages of information about the history and the range of services on offer.
Netsite Managing Director Paul Duthoit said: “We are very proud to be involved with such an amazing place as The Historic Dockyard Chatham. There is so much on offer that it is essential to showcase the different aspects of the attraction with a well-designed website.
“We have worked closely with Chatham Historic Dockyard Trust for some while, having designed the previous site for them several years ago. When they asked us to work with them again, we jumped at the chance to develop a brand new, up-to-date website, integrating the new logo, branding and creative designs developed by their Putney-based brand agency, Agenda Design. We are thrilled with how the site has come out and are hoping it will encourage many more people to visit The Historic Dockyard Chatham.”
Because Netsite’s Zestos Content Management System has been used, The Historic Dockyard staff are able to edit and update the site quickly, easily and cost effectively.
Marketing Manager for The Historic Dockyard Chatham, Anthony Morse, said: “We are really pleased with the new site and think it gives potential visitors an excellent introduction to our amazing maritime heritage site. Importantly, it’s easy to navigate and quick to download and Zestos makes it easy for us to keep the content up to date."
The Historic Dockyard Chatham is one of Kent's and the south east’s top tourist attractions. Set in an 80 acre estate, it offers stunning historic architecture with the largest concentration of iconic buildings, historic ships, museum galleries and attractions in the UK.
Netsite www.netsite.co.uk offers a range of services from bespoke website design through to content managed e-recruitment systems. The company, which is based at the Historic Dockyard Chatham, was established 12 years ago and clients include the NHS, The Charity Commission and Crewsaver.
